About me and notjustatree!
My name is Kiersten and I come from Australia and the Philippines, but I manage this website from my home in Geneva, Switzerland. I am 14 years old, in Year 10.
This website aims to educate others (especially students, like me!) in an easy-to-understand way about this global environmental problem. I wish to inspire other children to do what they can to make a positive impact in their communities.
When I founded and created this website, I was 12 years old, in Year 6. I initially created this website as a part of a school project, but I continued to manage and expand it as time went on.
The reason I created this website was because I was genuinely interested in deforestation and its consequences on our planet. Through my research, I learnt a lot about this topic and decided that I wanted to share it with the world! This led to the creation of notjustatree.
Over the years, I have spread awareness about deforestation through poems, artwork, podcasts, videos, photos, essays, and even small events!
This website has encouraged me to work with others as well. Through some of my projects, I have collaborated with hundreds of people, including schools, small companies, and other website founders!

As for any work you have, nearly everything that gets submitted is posted on our blog! Submit your articles (e.g. photos, poems, artwork, essays, etc.) or share any relevant projects from around the world via this link. Remember, it's not just a tree!
